Turning Circular Innovation into Practice (CI-Hub)

Mileva Marčič   • 22 feb 2026 • 1 min read

As part of the CI-Hub project, the Piloting and Testing Phase of the CI-Hub Circular Transition Accelerator has been successfully completed, representing a key milestone in the joint effort to support SMEs in their digital and green transformation across the Danube region.

All 13 project partners participated in the pilot, each working with 5–6 SMEs from seven priority sectors, including Food & Beverage, Metal, Plastics, Electronics, Machinery, and Building Materials & Furniture.

SMEs were assessed using the DATAMENSIO software and four validated tools focusing on circular transition indicators, smart supply chain readiness, circular value creation, and technology transfer readiness. Based on these assessments, tailored recommendations and actionable solutions were developed for each company.

The process was guided by trained facilitators and supported through the B2GreenHub platform, which served as the central ecosystem for tools, matchmaking, and solution sharing.

Overall, the piloting phase delivered hands-on support and validated methodologies for implementing circular and digital solutions, while confirming the long-term value of the accelerator’s tools and services beyond the project lifecycle.
