“The Thermo-A1 console system is a patented substructure for ventilated façades. It uses an innovative, non-combustible web material to drastically reduce thermal bridges compared to conventional aluminium or stainless-steel brackets. This improves the energy performance of the building envelope, enables heating cost reductions of up to around 30% and reduces the CO₂ footprint over the building’s lifetime. The system is designed for fast on-site installation and for a wide range of façade materials such as fibre cement, fibre concrete, aluminium composite and other panel systems.”
"• Significant reduction of thermal bridges in the façade substructure (up to approx. 30% compared to conventional metal brackets), leading to lower heating energy demand and reduced heating costs for the building operator. • Non-combustible A1-classified console design that fulfils high fire-safety requirements and supports safe use in mid- and high-rise buildings. • Statistically optimised geometry that reduces the number of consoles per m² façade, saving raw materials and transport volume while shortening installation time on site. • Modular system with project-specific web lengths, enabling material-efficient design instead of oversizing and supporting just-in-time production with minimal stock levels. • 100% production in Austria with a clear focus on long-life, recyclable metal components that support circular construction and contribute to climate and resource-efficiency targets (e.g. SDG 8, 9 and 11)."
"The Thermo-A1 console system has been designed as a drop-in replacement for conventional façade brackets and can be integrated into existing workflows of façade manufacturers and installers with minimal changes. Standard fastening points and interfaces to common vertical and horizontal profiles are maintained, so existing drilling, cutting and assembly tools can still be used. In practice, manufacturers and façade contractors mainly adapt their static calculations and bill of quantities, while the on-site installation steps remain very similar or become even simpler due to standardised components and reduced console quantities per square metre. This allows a low-risk, step-by-step adoption within ongoing projects."
"Konatec supports manufacturers and façade contractors with: • Technical consulting in early project phases (detail design of substructures, optimisation of console spacing, static verifications). • Project-specific engineering support, including structural calculation input for engineers and planners. • Training sessions for installers (on-site or online) to familiarise teams with the console system, tolerances and best-practice detailing. • Just-in-time production and logistics concepts to reduce stock requirements at the customer’s site. • Documentation and digital planning support (e.g. datasheets, CAD details and design guidelines for ventilated façades using the Thermo-A1 system)."
"Yes. The Thermo-A1 console system is designed to meet strict European building and fire-safety requirements. • The console uses a non-combustible web material and fulfils fire class A1 according to OIB, making it suitable for façades with high fire-safety demands. • The system is CE- and ETA-conform, which allows its use in a wide range of European markets. • By reducing thermal bridges and energy demand in operation, the solution contributes to national and EU-level climate and energy efficiency targets. "As a young company, Konatec is currently in the early market roll-out phase. Pilot projects are being realised with façade manufacturers and contractors in Austria, Germany, Norway focusing on multi-storey residential and office buildings. In these projects, the Thermo-A1 console system replaces conventional aluminium brackets in ventilated façades. Internal project evaluations show that façade contractors can reduce the number of consoles per m² and simplify on-site installation steps, while building owners benefit from improved energy performance and high fire-safety of the façade system."
Formal published case studies and customer testimonials are currently being prepared as part of the early market roll-out. So far, feedback from façade contractors during pilot projects has highlighted the ease of handling, reduced component count and the strong sustainability story (energy savings and reduced CO₂ emissions) as main advantages. Publicly shareable case studies can be provided to the CI-HUB consortium at a later stage once ongoing projects are completed.
