Description of center’s facilities and equipment

The UP 3D Centre contains the largest and most versatile 3D printing machine fleet in the region, catering for any market or research focus, whether it's prototyping, small-scale manufacturing, reverse engineering or even dental technology. It also has a destructive materials testing laboratory that allows for flow index measurements in addition to impact, compression and fatigue testing. Besides website development, programming, VR and AR content development are also part of the portfolio.

Our diverse 3D printer fleet consists of FDM printers, an industry grade selective laser sintering device (SLS), a photopolymer printing Polyjet™ that uses CMYK colour range, SLA equipment using stereolithography, and a Metal X metal printer. Printing materials range from the PLAs to ABS and PEEK to composites and steels. We are capable of small batch production, to print medical devices, implant and even injection moulding templates. Our materials testing laboratory uses Zwick-Roell machines.
