Challenge

InterTechnic faced increasing demands for production efficiency, process transparency and better utilization of production capacity. Although the company used an ERP system and modern CAD/CAM tools, part of the production and project processes was still managed manually or using spreadsheet tools. There was a lack of systematic recording of production performance, automated data collection from machines and clear analytical tools for evaluating the effectiveness of orders, machines and operators. This made it difficult to identify bottlenecks, optimize production schedules, and make quick data-driven decisions. Therefore, the company was looking for a way to systematically analyze the digital maturity of production processes and prepare a plan for the next digital transformation.

Solution & Result

As part of the pilot action of the Danube DNA project, InterTechnic collaborated with SOVA Digital to analyze the digital maturity of production processes and identify opportunities for further digitalization. A comprehensive analysis of processes in the areas of design, production planning, warehouse management, trade and IT infrastructure was carried out. Based on the data obtained, an overview of the current state of digitization and a draft roadmap of digital transformation were created.
The pilot activity identified the main areas with potential for improvement, in particular the introduction of Production Equipment Monitoring (MIS), real-time production visualization, automatic analysis of machine efficiency and evaluation of operator performance. The result is a clear plan for the digitalization of production, which will enable better utilization of production capacities, increased process transparency and reduced manual operations in the processing of production data.

Learning tips & recommendations

When digitizing production processes, it is important to start with a detailed analysis of existing processes and information flows. Many manufacturing companies use multiple information systems, but they are not fully integrated. It is recommended to proceed step by step – first identify critical processes with the greatest benefit of digitization, then introduce tools for collecting production data, and only then build analytical and management tools. It is equally important to involve employees in the change process and focus not only on technology, but also on optimizing processes and workflows.
