Challenge

NEXLOC is a Galați digital agency (web development and event management, active since 2014) with a clear ambition: to scale up its services and expand across the Danube corridor. Like most small agencies, growth depends on external co-funding — but finding the right calls was slow, manual work. The team searched alone, across many dispersed European and national programmes (Digital Europe, Creative Europe, Horizon Europe, Interreg, PNRR/POR Sud-Est), with no dedicated funding specialist and guides "written only for specialists". With limited time, relevant opportunities were easy to miss, and turning a growth idea into a structured, fundable concept took even longer.

Solution & Result

Through the Danube DNA pilot, NEXLOC registered as a Solution Seeker on B2GreenHub and piloted the AI-Powered Funding Call Matcher, jointly developed by ITCLD and PTP (Slovenia). Using "Ask AI" — natural-language search over a database of live funding calls — the representative described the agency's scale-up in plain words and received a ranked, filterable shortlist spanning the most relevant programmes (Digital Europe, Creative Europe, Horizon Europe Cluster 4, Interreg Danube Region and national PNRR/POR Sud-Est schemes), refined with the Industry, Status, Budget and Deadline filters. ITCLD supported onboarding, prompt design and interpreting the results. To go further, NEXLOC used the Danube DNA AI Proposal Assistant to turn its growth idea into a structured project concept with a full EU intervention logic and work packages. Result: from days of manual searching, NEXLOC now has — in a single guided session — a prioritised funding pipeline and a submission-ready concept for its scale-up. [Pilot estimates to be validated: call-search time cut from hours to minutes; several eligible calls per session vs. 1–2 found manually per month.]

Learning tips & recommendations

• Reframe before you search: positioning NEXLOC as a "digital agency scaling across the Danube corridor" surfaced far more relevant calls than "web design".
• Use natural language in "Ask AI", then narrow with the Industry / Status / Budget / Deadline filters.
• Combine the two tools: the Matcher finds the call, the AI Proposal Assistant structures the concept and work packages.
• Register as a Solution Seeker with the Danube DNA tag to reach the matcher.
• Lean on your support organisation (cluster/DIH) for prompts and eligibility screening, and act on "Forthcoming" calls early
