As a company active in industrial automation, robotics and vocational training, we continuously seek funding opportunities to support innovation, equipment upgrades and educational programmes. Identifying suitable funding calls was often time-consuming, requiring searches across multiple platforms and sources. Limited time and resources made it difficult to quickly assess eligibility and relevance. This created a risk of missing valuable funding opportunities and slowed down project planning. We were therefore interested in testing a solution that could simplify the search process, provide more relevant funding matches and support the preparation of future project proposals.
The challenge was addressed through testing the AI-Powered Funding Call Matcher and the AI Proposal Assistant available through the B2GreenHub platform. The tools helped the company identify relevant funding opportunities related to industrial automation, robotics, digitalisation and vocational education. Through the pilot activity, the company received guidance on using the platform and exploring suitable funding programmes.
B2GreenHub provided access to the solution, while knowledge transfer activities improved our understanding of funding opportunities and proposal preparation processes. During the pilot phase, the company identified more than 10 potentially relevant funding calls and reduced the time needed for initial funding opportunity screening by approximately 50% (from several hours to less than one hour per search). The tools also supported the development of project concepts and improved internal capacity for planning future innovation and investment projects.
Companies looking to invest in innovation, digitalisation and skills development should clearly define their strategic priorities before searching for funding opportunities. AI-based tools can significantly simplify the identification of relevant funding calls and reduce the time spent on preliminary research. It is important to regularly monitor available programmes and maintain a pipeline of project ideas. SMEs can particularly benefit from digital funding support tools, as they help improve access to information and strengthen internal capacities for future project development. Cooperation with business support organisations can also provide valuable guidance and networking opportunities..
